This facility for the US Navy is located at Naval Base San Diego in California. It provides hands-on training using operational trainers with digital and physical simulations that duplicate the shipboard navigational experience.
Explore Design led the interior design team for a comprehensive, 130,000 SF renovation which added high-tech vessel simulators, offices, support areas and secure OSS training facilities into an existing warehouse.
Our team provided extensive FF&E services, material/color selections and interior systems for the facility, which includes fourteen, thirty-seat classrooms, an auditorium for two-hundred, thirty Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) III trainer rooms, twelve brief/debrief rooms, and two large instructor offices.
