Notable Projects

For Evelyn, a career in architecture is not just a collection of buildings, but a series of relationships. Blending her background in art and science, she approaches architecture as both a creative and analytical process, where ideas come alive through collaboration. Her greatest satisfaction comes from seeing those ideas built and making a lasting impact in the communities she serves.

At Explore Design, Evelyn values the firm’s culture of open dialogue among clients, engineers, and contractors, as the best solutions often emerge from diverse perspectives.

Beyond the studio, she gives back to her community through service on the Boards of the Anchorage Community Development Authority and the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. A lifelong learner and advocate for design in Alaska, Evelyn finds balance by spending time outdoors with her horse, Cece.

Featured Project

Evelyn’s favorite project is the Prince William Sound Science Center, located in the picturesque fishing town of Cordova, Alaska. The center supports an organization dedicated to building a more resilient and sustainable future, locally and globally. The project brought together many of Evelyn’s favorite design types, blending educational, research, and exhibition spaces into one cohesive facility. Sustainability guided every decision, including the integration of an innovative seawater lab and heat pump system that harnesses renewable energy from the surrounding environment. For Evelyn, the experience was made even more rewarding by the passion and collaboration of the scientists, stakeholders, and community members who helped bring the vision to life.
