Matt brings a contractor’s perspective to every project he touches. Before joining Explore Design, he spent nine years in the construction industry, an experience that gives him a deep appreciation for craft, coordination, and the people who make architecture real. His attention to detail and ability to see the big picture help guide projects smoothly from concept through completion.
A natural collaborator, Matt values the relationships he’s built with clients, contractors, and teammates across the country. His favorite project, the Alaska Airlines Hangar, holds special meaning; it’s the one that brought him to both Alaska and ExD.
When he’s not in the studio, you’ll find him outside mountain biking, hiking, or fishing, taking in everything Alaska’s landscape has to offer.

FedEx ANC Sorting Facility
The FedEx Sorting Facility Warehouse stands out as a milestone project for Matt. Managing a 183,000-square-foot warehouse with complex site conditions and extensive stakeholder coordination pushed him to grow as both a communicator and a problem-solver. The project’s technical challenges, especially aligning design with intricate sorting equipment, made the successful outcome especially rewarding.
