Sydney Ouzts

“Good design should work with nature, not against it.”

Born and raised in Anchorage, Sydney brings curiosity, focus, and optimism to her work as a Project Management Intern at Explore Design. A student at the University of Alaska Anchorage, she’s in her senior year while diving hands-on into projects that bridge design and construction.

Sydney’s passion for sustainability began in high school, sparked by a teacher who inspired her to think about how buildings shape the world around us. That experience set her on a path toward project management, where she hopes to help create structures that reduce environmental impact and improve the way people experience their communities.

Outside of work, Sydney spends her time hiking Alaska’s trails, exploring new places, and planning her next adventure abroad. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she’s as comfortable chatting about Revit details as she is swapping travel stories in two languages.
