Tim Conrad

“From playing cards to concrete walls, I guess I never stopped building.”

Tim’s passion for architecture began in the 6th grade. Tasked with drawing a floor plan for a house, and then creating a scale model, it was a project that launched a full-blown obsession. After creating a mock-up model from playing cards held together with clay, the final model was unfinished because of the attention to detail. No worry though, the entire class arranged their houses as if they were on a street—one which was still under construction!

At Explore Design, Tim is known for his willingness to lead, collaborate, and lend a hand wherever needed. He thrives on the variety of each day, blending creativity with technology to make spaces safer, smarter, and more meaningful for Alaskans. He credits ExD’s success to its forward-thinking, inclusive leadership, and openness at every level.

Outside of the studio, Tim and his family enjoy the outdoors of Alaska from hiking to paddle boarding. Their family adventures also take them regularly outside of the United States. Having been influenced by excellent mentors over his career, he has passed that along through sharing about architecture and being an architect on several occasions in classrooms throughout Anchorage.
